Sample Content for the Boost Blog Challenge PLR Ebook:

Do you feel like your blog is letting you down? You work so hard as a blogger to generate interest, attract visitors, and then turn those visitors into loyal customers. Yet you don’t feel like all your hard work is being rewarded. You hear story after story about bloggers making a good living off of their little pieces of Internet real estate. Every now and then you see glimpses of success, and you think it is your turn to finally make a full-time living from your blog.

Then the traffic inexplicably slows, so do your sales, and you have to put your dreams of becoming a million-dollar blogger on hold.

It doesn’t have to be that way. With a successful plan full of proven blog-boosting tips and best practices, you can transform your ho-hum blog into a traffic-magnet presence on the web that helps you reach all your blogging goals. In as little as 21 days, you can see a real change in how your blog performs.

Listed below you will find 21 different one-a-day tasks and activities for getting more traffic. Some of them are one-and-done jobs, like building a “Start Here” page that funnels new traffic exactly where you want it to go. Once you build this page the right way you don’t have to go back and redo it, unless your analytics show it is not performing up to your expectations. Speaking of analytics, you should have at least one day each month where you pour over the numbers of your business.

This means using Google Analytics, WordPress SEO by Yoast or some other traffic-tracking software suite to monitor how many visitors you are getting, how long they stay on your blog, and other important metrics. Some tasks, such as connecting with other bloggers in your niche, will be done repetitively, month after month after month.

Also, don’t look at the following list as being done in any specific order.

You can tackle any of the 21 blog success tips below on any of the next 21 days. The idea is to implement one task per day for 3 weeks, which gets you into the habit of working to improve your blog each and every day. Over time, this will become an automatic activity that exponentially builds on itself, eventually delivering all your blogging goals.

If you are ready to take the 21-day challenge to build a better blog, let’s begin by developing the “Start Here” page mentioned above.

Determining What Needs Improving

Welcome to the auditing your blog ecourse. In this course, we are going to look at the things on your blog pages and posts that make a difference as far as gaining readership and building your list (provided that is one of your goals for having your blog).

In particular we’ll look at things like:

  • Headlines
  • Content
  • Visuals
  • Statistics
  • Conclusion and CTA

Headlines

In a blog post, this is the first thing a visitor sees. It must be engaging enough to get that person to stay and read the rest of your post. For example, here are two headlines: The Benefits of Meditation and 7 Benefits of Meditation. Which one caught your attention? The second one of course. Numbers in a headline catch attention!

Content

After the headline, next comes the content or body of your blog post. Let’s start with the opening line. It should be 8 words or less and “hook” your visitor right away by creating the curiosity to read more. Something like “You’ve finally found it!

The rest of the content should be easy to read. Break up text by using bulleted or numbered lists, subheadings, bolding, italics and images. Use transitions between paragraphs to bring the reader from one idea to the next.

Visuals

The saying “A picture is worth a thousand words” is no truer than it is in blog posts. Include at least one relevant image in each post and if using WordPress, be sure to use that same image also as a featured image for that post so that same image shows up in the recently published blog post listing. If you include a link in an image, does it take the visitor to the right place?

Statistics

While there are many different blog statistic programs, most continue to use Goggle Analytics because it works the best.

The three things you should look for are:

  • Traffic source – Where is it coming from?
  • Bounce Rate – The percentage of people that visit your site, but don’t dig deeper and end up leaving. A high bounce rate indicates something is wrong in your blog causing them not to stay.
  • Site Overlay – For the people that choose to stay, where are they going in your blog? Or more important yet, where are they not going? If you are offering something, but nobody is taking you up on it, something is not right. You may have to change your message in these areas or the design of your blog layout.

By comparing these three analytics, you get a better idea of how people view your blog; it could be entirely different from how you think people are viewing it … or would like people to view it. Time for a change!

Call-To-Action

Without this piece of the puzzle, nothing goes anywhere. If you want your visitor to go somewhere from your blog post, you must have a highly visible means of getting your visitor to go there. While a highlighted word that contains a link could accomplish that, a better call-to-action is a colorful button the tells them to do something like SUBSCRIBE or DOWNLOAD or GET IT NOW! Make it simple but yet highly visible.

In the next lesson, we are going to look at auditing SEO so your blog shows up higher in the search results.

5 Tips for Writing Your Blog Posts

One of the hardest parts of starting a blog is the writing. Once you figure out the technology, you’ve got to get the writing part down. The thing about writing blog posts is that it’s honestly not that hard to do. If you can speak about something with intelligence, you can write a blog post.

1) Create Focus

You need to have a place you can work where you can focus on what you’re doing for a specific amount of time. It doesn’t matter if that’s just 30 minutes per day. You can start blogging in that amount of time if you are not distracted. Get rid of all distractions such as social media, televisions, and children. You want to have the time to be totally focused on one thing. Multitasking is overrated when it comes to writing.

2) Brainstorm Topic Ideas

Figure out the topics you will write about in advance of your writing session. You can brainstorm many different topics about your niche in a variety of ways from mind mapping to cubing and keyword research. As you brainstorm the different ideas, keep a running list and put them into your calendar. Then you’ll already know each day what topic you’ll be writing about. That way you can get started writing right away.

3) Write How You Talk

Don’t try to be someone you’re not, it’s important to learn to write how you talk. As a blogger you don’t even have to have the best grammar, in fact, if you do it might be too boring to read. You want your personality to shine through in everything that you write. Try using voice to text software that is already on most computers today if you have windows 7 or better, to talk your blog posts. That might help get your creative juices flowing.

4) Differentiate Yourself

Don’t try to be someone you’re not. You don’t need to copy anyone else. Be yourself and make it know how you’re different from the next guy writing about your niche. The one thing that you can bring to your niche that no one else can is your personality. Don’t hide it, be you. If you are a colorful person, let your audience see it. Sure, maybe you will turn some people off, but you won’t turn off your true audience.

5) Write Often

It’s no secret that practice makes perfect. Writing is a skill that gets easier and better the more you do it. If you do it every single day, you’ll create a process that automatically gets your creative juices flowing and signals to the brain that it’s time to write. Soon, you’ll be able to create content on demand without much thought at all.

Five Tips for Coming up with Blog Post Ideas

Hitting up against writer’s block? Coming up with blog post ideas day in and day out can be challenging at times. Here are five tips for coming up with blog post ideas when the ideas aren’t flowing.

1. Do Something Strenuous

Take a jog. Work out. Go for a swim. Hit a punching bag. Do something strenuous that gets oxygen pumping into your brain, while simultaneously taking your attention off of blogging.

Shifting your physiology can go a long ways towards shifting your mentality. Doing strenuous exercise can often help punch through the staleness of writer’s block and to help you discover new inspiration.

2. Do Something Relaxing

Conversely, relaxing can also help overcome writer’s block. Many of the world’s best inventors came up with their ideas while on leisurely strolls, in the shower or right when they woke up from a nap.

When you’re stressed or tense, try doing something relaxing instead.

3. Read Your Competitor’s Blog

Your competitors can be a great source of inspiration. What are they doing right? What are they doing wrong? How are their customers and readers responding to them?

Read both the content of the posts and the comments. See which of their posts are popular and see if you can address similar topics in your own style.

If there are any “holes” in their coverage, be the first to address those holes as well.

4. Just Start Ranting

Another great strategy to get writing is to just start writing. Write about any old thing. Write about the state of the industry, write about random tips, write about off-the-wall ideas you’ve had.

In short, just start writing. Later on, you might edit what you wrote and find something useful. You might not. What’s important is that you’ve gone from “stuck” to “writing.” That in and of itself can help you overcome writer’s block.

5. Browse Related Forums

Browse forums in your industry and in related industries. What are current topics people are talking about? What are some of the most often asked questions? What are questions that people are having a hard time getting answered?

Forums are a great way to get a sense for what’s going on in a particular field. By browsing forums, you can often come up with ideas on what to write about based on what’s on your target market’s mind.

These are five ideas you can use today to help come up with ideas on what to write. Any time you have trouble coming up with blog post ideas, just come back to this article and try one of these five tactics. Most importantly, try some of the tactics that you wouldn’t normally try. After all, if you’re only doing what you’ve always done, you won’t radically change your results.

Guide To Sucessful Blogging PLR Report

Guide To Sucessful Blogging PLR Report PLR Report Sample:

Good communication is as stimulating as black coffee, and just as hard to sleep after.

-Anne Morrow Lindbergh

“Do you have a blog?”  Have you heard that question lately?  It seems that everybody is now talking about blogging as the best way to promote your online business and increase your sales, but not everyone actually knows exactly what blogging is or how it works.

While the growth rate of blogging is slowing down, there are still a staggering one hundred and twenty thousand new blogs created every day.  The popularity of blogging is increasing significantly with the number of blogs in the web’s one hundred most visited websites growing from eleven to twenty-two in the last year.  People are beginning to see blogs as a really valuable source of news and information.

This guide will help you understand blogging a little better and give you some tips on how to create a successful blog.

In this report you will discover:

  • The definition of a blog
  • How blogging can help your business – Expert tips to write a great blog
  • Coming up with original ideas for blog posts
  • Tips for writing a popular blog
  • Getting traffic to your blog – Including SEO techniques
  • Tools necessary to create a blog – Including the debate on free blogging services v. hosting your own blog
  • Ten common blogging mistakes and how to avoid them

What is a blog, really?  Blog 101.

A blog (short for web log) is an online area designated for publishing short articles or similar information, within a predefined template.  It is a quick and simple method of creating content on a webpage without having to worry about technical page layouts or formatting.

A blog can be on any subject you choose, and can be updated as often as you wish.  Some people add posts to their blog each day, while others only create a couple of new posts a month.

Personal blogs can often take on the form of a diary, with the author describing what they have been doing since the last posting.  Business blogs tend to be more informative and are used to offer advice to customers, announce new products, promote other related sites, and generate interest in the business.

The following definition of a blog comes from Blogger, a blogging service owned by Google:

“A blog is a personal diary. A daily pulpit. A collaborative space. A political soapbox. A breaking-news outlet. A collection of links. Your own private thoughts. Memos to the world.

Your blog is whatever you want it to be. There are millions of them, in all shapes and sizes, and there are no real rules.

In simple terms, a blog is a web site, where you write stuff on an ongoing basis. New stuff shows up at the top, so your visitors can read what’s new. Then they comment on it or link to it or email you. Or not.”

Although each blog is individual, they tend to have a few things in common:

  • A main posting area with posts, or articles, listed in date order, newest on top.  These posts can be organized into categories, for example you could have one category of personal blog posts and a category of business related blog posts
  • An archive containing older posts or articles
  • A method for people to leave comments about your blog posts. Your readers will log into your blog with a user name to leave remarks about your articles.
  • A number of links to other relevant sites, often known as a ‘blogroll’
  • A number of feeds including RSS, Atom or RDF feeds.
