Introduction
How do you feel when you achieve a big goal in your life? Your self-pride goes straight up. Your sense of accomplishment is through the roof, especially if you had to work very hard to get what you wanted. Your stress goes down and your happiness level rises. These are common feelings for people that realized something they have desired for a long time.
The bottom line is this. You feel better about who you are when you achieve important goals.
Unfortunately, this is not the situation for many people. The Telegraph in the United Kingdom reports that “… just 3 out of 10 people feel happy with their lives.” More than 40% are very unhappy with how their lives are going. These people have no doubt failed to make big accomplishments in certain areas of their lives.
In the United States we get the same story. Time magazine reports Harris Poll research from 2016 regarding the happiness of Americans. Sadly, only 31% of those adults polled said they were happy.
Happiness is different for everyone. What might make you joyful and stress-free could be different from what causes the same emotions in someone else. Whatever your goals are, when you achieve them you head towards happiness and away from sadness.

Email #1 – Welcome to our making a plan and sticking to it series
Hello and welcome our series on planning. If you are like most people, you make a resolution or two (which are plans) at the end of a year on things you want to accomplish in the New Year. It could be losing 30 pounds, saving money or just about anything.
However, if you are also like most people that make resolutions, you have long forgot about those promises you made to yourself or others by the end of the first quarter of that new year. But in this ecourse, we are going to learn how to make a plan and stick to it (this time).
Two key elements in every plan
Every plan you make should have these two key elements in it:
- It should be specific
- It should be reviewed periodically and adjusted as necessary
If you follow the SMART process of creating a goal, then you will have the first element covered. We’ll cover the SMART process in an upcoming lesson later in this course.
Getting specific
A goal of wanting lose weight in 2020 is not a goal, but more of a dream. Why? Because it is not specific. Or for example, how much weight do you want to lose? And by when?
A better stated goal would be “I want to lose 30 pounds by the end of 2020.
Review periodically
And that brings us to the second element. You must have some method in place to periodically review your end goal and if you are not on track, make the necessary adjustment. Otherwise, you could end up at December 1st and still have 20 pounds to lose … which is impossible, and you would end up failing to reach your goal (again).
However, if you set mini goals called milestones along the way, say every month you would know that you need to lose 2.5 pounds to make goal by the end of the year. And if you had not lost your 2.5 pounds in the past month, you could go back, analyze why and make the adjustment, so that you could stay on track for remaining months and still make goal by the end of the year.
That wraps it up for this first lesson. In the next lesson, we will talk about understanding your “why” Be sure to read that one as it is the foundation of making a plan that you can stick with.

How Do You Plan Long Term?
Long term is a phrase which can mean different things for different people. For some people, 90 days is considered long term, while for others, a project must be at least a year to be considered long term. It can also depend on the situation – a year isn’t long to be in a job, but it’s a long time to spend on one project in your job. If you’re thinking about how to plan for the long term – period of 90 days or more – here are some tips to help you along.
- Break it down into smaller chunks
A three month project can often easily be broken down into smaller tasks. Depending on the size and scale of your project, you may want to split it per week, per fortnight or per month. If you have a team working with you, split the project out per person or per department. This will not only help you to create an effective and clear plan, but it will make it simple to carry out the plan in the longer term.
- Think about what you need
Whether you’re planning for your personal or professional life, it’s important to know what you need in order to carry out your long-term plan. If you don’t have certain elements or items that you need, you will either need to obtain them or consider them further, or alternatively make amendments to your plan. You can make a list of everything you need as an annex to your plan – keep revising this list to ensure your plan is carried out properly.
- Review what’s going well
One of the problems with many plans is that they are made and then left to one side. Your long-term plan should be a living plan which is revised every so often. For a 90-day plan, you should revise it every two weeks at least to ensure everything is on track and to avoid any upcoming problems which may arise.
- Keep sight of your overall goal
A key thing to remember when planning long term is to maintain sight of your overall goal. Once you start making the plan, it can be easy to get caught up with the finer details and the smaller sub-sections of your plan. Remembering what your overall goal is and why you’re doing it can help you to stay on track, stay focused and motivated and come out on top with the best possible outcome.

Goals PLR Article Sample:
Are Your Limiting Beliefs Stopping You from Achieving Your Goals?
Everyone has conscious or subconscious ideas that can become limiting beliefs that stop us from achieving our goals if we let them. Sometimes these beliefs are instilled in us in childhood and sometimes we create them ourselves. An example of a limiting belief that can get in your way of success is how you see yourself with money.
If you believe you will always struggle and always be poor, chances are you’ll set yourself up for failure. Your limiting belief that you’re poor and that you always will be poor becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. The same can be said about anything negative in your life that limits you – whether it’s career, education, or personal such as being healthy and of normal weight. If you see yourself a certain way, it can be hard to change that view and let go of that limiting belief.
There are eight telling phrases that point to a limiting belief:
- “It’s hopeless” – Anytime you use the word “never” is a clue that you’re focusing on a limiting belief. For example: “I’ll never have any money because you need money to make money.”
- “I’m helpless” – When most people feel uneducated or helpless, they blame their circumstances instead of working to change them. “I can’t manage my money because I don’t know how” sounds insightful, but the part that’s missing is the feeling of helplessness when all you need to do is take a personal finance course or buy, read and practice the lessons in “Personal Finances for Dummies”.
- “It’s useless” – The idea that nothing you do will make a difference is that you believe that any action you take won’t make a difference. “It doesn’t matter if I work out an hour a day, I won’t lose weight anyway.” How do you know? Have you tried to do anything for longer than a couple weeks?
- “It’s the universe” – Sometimes a limiting belief has to do with the idea that outside forces that you can’t control are at work keeping you down. You can’t find a job or get clients because the economy sucks, where you live is depressed, you don’t have the right clothing and so forth, but you do nothing in your power to change it because it’s destiny. “Everything happens for a reason” type of thinking can be very limiting and make you feel powerless.
- “I’m worthless” – The idea that you’re not smart enough or good enough to do what you really want can be a very strong limiting belief system and seems to affect women more than men. You feel you’re not pretty enough, smart enough, or good enough to have something, so you don’t take the steps to achieve it, because you don’t feel that you deserve it.
- “It’s genetic” – While there are certainly some instances where genetics play a huge role in a person’s life, the truth is that almost everything that is genetic can be fixed with the right mindset, training, exercise, and outlook. You’re not stuck with your genetics, but if you think you are, you may not try any of the things to pull yourself out of the rut you’re stuck in.
- “I’ll fail” – The truth is the fear of failure is something most people have as a limiting belief. “I’m a bad public speaker so if I do it, I’ll be judged, and I’ll fail anyway so why try” is a common refrain. But, how can you set that belief in stone if you’ve not tried?
- “I’m different” – The limiting belief about being different is that different is necessarily bad. You don’t want to be who you are because you’re different and you’ll be looked at as different by other people. You’re afraid to be who you are, and because of that you don’t even know who you are, and you’re too scared to find out due to fear of rejection and ending up alone.
If you ever hear any of these phrases go through your head, try to disconnect from them, and turn them around to “why not me” instead of “why me.” Always ask “why not me” because the truth is, you’re not feeling anything different from anyone else who has made goals and achieved them. The difference is in the doing, not the intelligence or talent.

Subject: Life Goals in Your 20s
Dear [Name],
Becoming an adult can be quite stressful but also extremely rewarding and exciting. This is your best chance to set and accomplish your life goals with a fresh start. Setting goals, no matter your age, should be personal to you. However, some areas are essential not to overlook if you want to have a successful life in your 20s and the next.
College or Career
Your 20s are the start of a brand-new world, and you need a way to continue it financially. Set goals that will help you accomplish this. Maybe that means you’ll finish college or attend a vocational school. Whatever it is, now is the time to figure it out and create a plan of action to get it done. Keep in mind that it’s natural for college and career goals to change as you get older and as you learn more about yourself.
Retirement and Emergency Savings
The idea of saving for retirement in your 20s may sound crazy, but it is the best thing you can do. Starting now will only allow you to have more because you are giving it more time to grow. Even if you can only save 100 dollars a month, this will really add up later in life due to compounding interest.
Your first goal needs to be three months of emergency expenses. After that, start donating that savings amount to a 401K through your bank.
Family/Relationship
Do you want kids in the future? A spouse? How about a home of your own? Saving now makes everything that much easier to accomplish. By the time you are in your 30s, you will be able to mark this off your bucket list easily and without stress. Not only that, but you will also get the house of your dreams more likely than not.
All you need to save is about 20 percent of your principal to get a good deal on a mortgage, which will always be less than if you paid rent for something similar in quality. Having children costs money, but if it’s something you need and want in order to be happy, start now setting up your life for your dreams to come true.
Health
Before you plan on having kids (or even if you decide not to have kids), it’s always helpful to set life goals related to health – including your mental health. Living a sedentary lifestyle can shorten your lifespan almost as much as smoking cigarettes can. Use your 20s to be the healthiest you can be to live the longest possible. The habits you form now will pay off in amazing ways later.
One tactic to ensure you are healthy is to make it simple. Move more than you sit and eat more plants than anything else. Also, stay hydrated and get check-ups and dental cleanings regularly even when you feel fine.
Personal Interests
It is never a good idea to avoid what you are passionate about. Maybe you are not one of the fortunate ones that get to work at a job you’re passionate about yet. It’s okay; dive into those passions when you can. Set a schedule so you fit it in.
Spending time with yourself is important, as is taking time to do what you like. For example, set a goal to read one book a month, or learn to paint, or take up a yoga practice. You can also work on that business plan you always thought was unrealistic. Passion projects always boost mental clarity and give everyone a sense of purpose.
Take advantage of the “extra” time you have in your 20s. Set life goals that will continue for decades and lead to a rewarding successful life. This saying may seem trite, but it’s so true: “If you don’t plan, you are just planning to fail.”
Next time, we’ll look at setting life goals when you’re in your 30s.
How to Create Empowering Goals PLR Report – 5765 words
This Empowering Goals PLR Report is Available in Word Doc Format and includes a PLR License
How to Create Empowering Goals PLR Report Sample Content:
Goal setting is a process of intentionally laying out the want or need for a new skill or project in a step-by-step manner. Once the goal is clearly identified, a plan of action is created to accomplish it.
Goal setting requires a thoughtful plan and a set of steps to be successful. It requires hard work and dedication. Goal setting is essentially deciding to take control of your life by identifying where you want to go and working toward that goal.
Why Having Life Goals Is Important
Having life goals to some may sound like a waste of time, but overall, it is a critical practice to adopt. Any expert will suggest it to help you assure your success. Whether you like where you are now or you are having trouble in your life, set out some life goals that are important to you so that you can work toward them.
This method works because, beyond the goal itself, the experience of working toward the goal provides so much more joy and excitement and fabric to your life. Without goals, you essentially have nothing to look forward to and it’s easy to fall into despair. But when you know where you’re going and how you’ll get there, life becomes fun, exciting, and worth living. In a sense, setting life goals is setting your plan or road map to life and how you plan to ride it.
A Sense of Purpose
Goal setting provides a sense of purpose. It redirects your focus to completing something – whether it be daily, monthly, or yearly. It motivates you to continue your daily life. Each goal you set is another day to look forward to. For example, if you know that walking 30 minutes a day leads to better health, and you check off each day over a year, it helps you understand why you’re doing it.
